Glorious Battle For An Injured Finger [Oct. 14th, 2004|10:08 pm]
[mood |creativecreative]

So there I was, fighting the valiant fight against a perilous diaper. As I moved in to strike the forbidden foe, sabotage was at work. In the hour of victory, my thumbnail struck my finger, taking down my finger in its hour of triumph.

As my finger took the mortal blow, the diaper shouted a victory cry. But what it didn't count on was the strong will of the rest of my fingers and my entire other hand. Even though there was an enemy amongst the ranks, they bravely pressed on, defeating the unhonorable enemy.

After the battle had ended, the medic worked hard to save the injured warrior, who was struck by a fellow soldier in battle. After the finger had ben mended, quick work was done to punish the treacherous thumbnail for its unhonorable act of sabotage. It was laid down and execution was swift as its head was put upon the guillotine.

My entire body yelled in victory as we had not only won the battle against the diaper, but had also cast out a vial saboteur. The finger is still in recovery, as it is wrapped in a band-aid which is hard at work mending the wounds of this honorable soldier in the war against dirty diapers.

No-Tip Friday [Sep. 10th, 2004|06:49 pm]
My profession (for the moment) is one which pays just a bit over $2 per hour to have me go work my posterior off by waiting tables in the hopes that I can scrape up at least minimum wage in gratuity from the customers that I fill with pizza and drinks. My hope is that some of my customers might learn this fact. I work very hard. For three hours today, I seated guests, served drinks and food, cleared tables, and made sure the buffet bars were clean. What do I get for thanks? Well, after serving only twelve tables (27 tickets total) I got seven dollars in thanks. That doesn't even pay minimum wage. Perhaps people will be better informed soon. I need the money.

Update on Smoking [Aug. 26th, 2004|07:08 am]
[mood |determineddetermined]

Well, I have been cutting down on smoking already...I usually smoke about a pack a day, and at my current rate, I will smoke about a half pack today if I keep up my pace. I will now console myself with a cup of tea and some nice minty gum. I know I can do it, with support from my friends.

A Goal To Achieve [Aug. 25th, 2004|08:05 am]
Well, I have a goal set that will be difficult to accomplish. I'm going to quit smoking. I shouldn't even have to set this goal, as I should never have started in the first place in October of 1999. But that doesn't change things. Here I am, wasting a good deal of money away on something that is detrimental to my health and well-being. My irl hubby smokes, too, and he doesn't want to quit, which will make this process very difficult. I know I can do it, though, with the support that I have from my friends. Methinks I will be chewing on many a pencil until I can get to the store for gum! Please think of me, my friends, and be supportive. That's something I don't exactly get here at home.

The Beauty of Morning [Aug. 25th, 2004|07:21 am]
As I woke up at a very early 6 o'clock in the morning, I have come to realise that mornings are becoming much easier for me to be accustomed to. Normally a night owl, I never really took the chance to see the morning until about 10 o'clock most days. Recently, however, I have been waking up at around 6 or 7, mostly because I usually must tread off to work shortly thereafter. But today is much different. I don't work at either job today, and I still woke up without a hitch. It is a nice, quiet morning. As I look out the window, I think to myself about how much a pity it is that I cannot see the sun rise, for it is quite cloudy out. Ah, well. C'est la vie. I'm sure with my waking schedule, there will be at least one sunrise I will get to enjoy.

Everyone is from Mars [Aug. 24th, 2004|11:31 pm]
Well, tomorrow is a big day for MarsSpods everywhere! (www.mba4.org) Two spods who are completely infatuated with each other are getting married! Well, net.married, anyway. ;) Not exactly a legal and binding act by any means, but it is a commitment that they take somewhat seriously (or at least as seriously as they can, being that it is difficult sometimes to take life in general seriously most of the time!) All will be taking place tomorrow evening on Mars Base Alpha 4, and it is sure to be a fun evening for all who spod frequently!

My First Blog [Aug. 24th, 2004|03:36 am]
Well, my first time blogging will be a bit awkward, as I have never done this before and really don't know where exactly to begin. Fortunately for me, though, I can talk forever. (I guess that could prove to be a bit unfortunate for the poor sap who decides to read this now, wouldn't it?)

To tell just a little about myself, I love to talk, laugh, make people laugh, and help whenever and whoever I am able. I like Science Fiction...particularly Star Trek. (How long did it actually take to figure that one out?) I have a family. My husband, who is 45 years old (yes, 21 years older than I) and my son, who is 3. I have absolutely the most adorable 3 year old who ever toddled!

I currently work two jobs, the first of which is at a Burger King and sends me home smelling like a giant french fry. My second job is at a truck stop, dealing in charm and sophistication that can only come from the great men/women of the road. {Insert rough American sarcasm here.} As I work my tail off, my first few blogs will be short and sweet.
